These days it is easy for just about anyone to create their own print layouts on their home computer. Programs like Microsoft Word and Photoshop make it simple for everyday users to create their own designs, sometimes even to a standard high enough for printing. Unfortunately, most people cannot output the kind of file that results in excellent printing, a high impact, professional-looking layout with attractive, copyright-safe images and, perhaps most importantly, readable text. When you have spent hours writing a book, or when you are about to invest thousands of dollars in printing and distributing a flyer, it is logical to ensure your budget covers the cost of a good designer to set out your print project.
I am an experienced graphic designer with excellent knowledge of image copyrights and places to find attractive, royalty free photos. Using Adobe InDesign, I will typeset your book's interior or cover, brochure or other layout project with creativity, originality, speed and brand awareness.

The Singing Silence and The Winging Word by A.M. Hamilton
Project type: Book layout—interior only
Dimensions: 105 x 170 mm
The Singing Silence was an interesting project because the author was a mathematician and had actually pre-planned certain patterns into the layout. She supplied the images that filled half of every second page and it was a fun challenge to have to make the text look right in such a small column. It was also necessary to balance the size and spacing so that diagrams would not fall on a page half-filled with a colour picture.

Dimensions: 213 x 134 mm with 14 mm spine
By Design was a pleasure to design thanks to the proliferation of excellent graphics of natural phenomena. The main images were chosen in conjunction with the publisher and the final composition of the front cover was made up of four separate images.
The colour scheme was a natural progression and extension of the chosen images and I used the eye dropper tool to choose colours for the highlighted word "By" and the warm blue rounded boxes.
The Wives Support Group Ministry website

Dimensions: Optimised for 1080 x 768 pixels and higher
The Wives Support Group Ministry is a small non-profit church organisation for women. It has a limited budget and caters to small groups of women around Queensland. We chose a unique-looking top menu with lots of friendly faith-based images and a pink focus to enhance the attractiveness of the site to women.
I am a graphic designer, not a programmer, therefore my skills in website design do not include contact forms or databases. For a basic website like this one, I can work with HTML and CSS and maintain it myself. For more complex websites, I can use content management software or provide graphics for your programmer.
Beyond Avogadro’s Number by Allan Bonsall

The author of Beyond Avogadro’s Number was keen to see what images I could find that matched the environment of an 18th century physician and it just so happened that two perfect images were available online:
